fforest fun...

If you stop by here regularly, you probably know how much I love finding unusual and different holiday places to stay. I found fforest, whilst flicking through some gorgeous pictures on flickr last night! It is near Cardigan, in Wales, near where we stayed earlier this year and love dearly. Based on an old farm, there is a selection of different accommodation, the domes look so different and the croglofts just gorgeous with their outdoor kitchens and welsh blankets. There are lots of activities you can take part in from kayaking and bushcrafts too.

The only drawback is that it does come with a fairly hefty price tag, but surely a girl deserves luxury once in a while?

  2. We've just come back from staying at Naturesbase near Aberaeron in West Wales. It's a great camp site with chickens, pigs, sheep, a horse, a friendly golden retriever and a willow tunnel. The owners are fantastic and the site is completely sustainable - they teach bushcraft amongst other things to school kids there during the week.

You can stay in one of their safari tents which look great fun but we took our own tent. Our pitch was huge and quite a way from our neighbours, placed in a circle of cut grass amongst wild flowers and tall grass - perfect. A big bonus too is that they give you a fire pit and some logs so that you can have your own camp fire (they even donated some marshmallows as we'd forgotten ours!). See: www.naturesbaseholidays.co.uk - their rates are really reasonable too!
