skinny dipping...

…we sneaked over the fence in case anyone saw us and stole across the meadow towards the riverbank. There was a sign that said ‘Private fishing’ and a small rickety old bridge. We found the perfect spot out of sight and with a small pebbly beach and lay the picnic rug down. It was early evening and still warm. We lay out the picnic of duck wraps, rocket, mango and goats cheese salad, mozzarella and sun dried tomatoes, olives and cherries and a baguette and listened to the river flow. There were planes overhead taking parachuters high into the sky and then releasing their load of colourful spots. An air balloon floated silently into view, low on the horizon, could they see us? The water was too tempting and we quickly stripped and jumped in, shallow at first, but with great deep pools to wallow in. I caught my breath, it was cold…
